Membership Update – A Small Change for a Big Year Ahead

Following our committee meeting in October 2025, we’ve agreed—by majority vote—to raise the minimum annual membership subscription from £2.00 to £3.00. It’s the first increase in many years and works out at less than 2p a week.

Most members already give £5.00, and this small boost helps us keep events affordable—especially as we plan a full calendar for our centenary year. While we’ll apply for grants, reliable income from memberships is essential, as not all events (like the garage or scarecrow sales) bring in funds. Thanks to your support, we were able to offer fairground rides at the summer fete for voluntary donations—something we’d love to continue.

What does your membership support?

  • Regular meetings with local councillors to raise community issues
  • Email updates on local news, events, and public meeting agendas
  • Priority access to events like quiz nights (last one sold out in 24 hours!)
  • Member-only participation in the garage sale
  • Objections to planning applications and ongoing dialogue with the bus company
  • Maintenance of memorial benches and community spaces
  • Securing leases and signage for local projects like the gardening club and village green
  • Four public meetings a year with guest speakers
  • A quarterly magazine delivered to over 3,500 homes—thanks to our advertisers

We’re also updating our member database, with a special benefit planned for 2026—details coming in the December magazine.

The HRA is run entirely by volunteers who care deeply about our community. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited for what’s to come.

Thank you for being part of it.
