Our experiment with holding a day-time event was not wholly successful. The consensus of opinion was that the whole Christmas atmosphere is enhanced by the village being "lit-up" in the dark. This was missing during the day-light.
Things were not helped by gale force winds which forced the last minute withdrawal of several stallholders and made life very difficult for those who did attend.
However, the majority of people who braved the elements appeared to have a good time and Father Christmas (safely tucked away in St Barts Church Hall) proved as popular as ever - for children and adults!
This has given us plenty to think about for potential future events.
