The Agenda Item is No.11 and the discussion starts at about 42 minutes 40 seconds into the recording
The HRA is strongly opposed to the sale of any of these sites in Holland on Sea. The Committee of the HRA has written to TDC setting out the reasons for our opposition. A copy of the letter is here:- Objection to possible land sale
On 19 October 2022 the HRA received a reply from TDC. A copy of this reply is here TDC reply to HRA letter
At the Quarterly Public meeting on the same day this letter was read out and it was unanimously agreed that TDC's response was inadequate. The proposals 'to initiate the Property Dealing Procedure in regard to various areas of land in Holland on Sea' directly contradict the policy set out in TDC's own Local Plan (adopted earlier this year) in which all of the sites in Holland on Sea are designated as 'safeguarded open space'. In conjunction with other interested parties the HRA will now consider its response.
Sladbury's Lane Development
SAY NO NOW! To future flooding disasters in Holland-on-Sea! This relates to the proposed building development on farmland northwest of Sladbury’s Lane and the probable impact on the flooding of Picker’s Ditch (the stream that runs under the bridge adjacent to Holland Bowls Club). The background to this is that the original planning application to build 132 new houses on farmland was opposed by the HRA and was turned down by Tendring District Council’s Planning Committee. However the applicant appealed to the Planning Inspectorate who allowed the appeal and granted outline planning permission. A detailed planning application is now with TDC.
